A new line-up of food and beverage outlets across Auckland Airport’s domestic and international terminals will create 370 new jobs over the next 12 months.
The new passenger offering will consist of 21 new outlets, which will start opening from June 2018, and six existing outlets that are being redeveloped.
The selection of food and beverage spaces will include popular New Zealand eateries Better Burger, Mexico, Orleans Chicken and Waffles, and Al Brown’s Best Ugly Bagels.
Richard Barker, Auckland Airport’s general manager retail and commercial, said, “Our new line-up of food and beverage outlets will provide travelers with an outstanding selection of high-quality New Zealand and international dining options.
“We’re giving customers what they have long desired, which is an increased variety of the best of New Zealand tastes and flavors alongside more international cuisines, all set in a modern and vibrant dining environment. There will be something for everyone, with a choice of in-terminal restaurants, casual dining, fast food and grab-and-go outlets.
“It’s also a significant jobs boost for the South Auckland community. There will be more employment opportunities for local people to work close to where they live. Given our location in South Auckland, it’s important that local people can connect with local jobs that present exciting and rewarding retail careers,” he added.
The new food and beverage outlets will be managed by operators Emirates Leisure Retail, Barworks Hospitality Group, Delaware North Companies in partnership with the Britomart Hospitality Group, HMSHost, and Kiwi Discovery.
