Airline Cathay Pacific was unveiled a first look at its new lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), named The Deck.
The lounge, which is to open on March 22, 2018, is located near gate 16 in Terminal 1 and strives to emulate a luxury, ‘contemporary living room’.
The dining experience is at the heart of the lounge, with a range of self-service, fresh offerings and The Noodle Bar that is iconic with Cathay Pacific lounges.
At 823m² (8,858ft²), The Deck can accommodate 180 passengers and features a relaxation room, eight shower suites, and washroom facilities. The lounge’s L-shaped veranda, coined The Terrace, features table and individual seating and panoramic views of the airport’s apron, taxiways and northern runway.
Paul Loo, chief customer and commercial officer at Cathay Pacific, said, “The Deck builds on the formula that has made our other new lounges around the world so popular with our customers.
“Investing in experiences that our customers value and consider important is at the heart of our product and service philosophy, and helps us differentiate ourselves from any other airline. We look forward to welcoming the lounge’s first passengers.”
The Deck will join Cathay Pacific’s other lounges at HKIA, which include The Bridge, The Pier Business and first class lounges, The Wing Business and first class lounges, and The Arrival. The Cabin will close on 30 April.
