Airline operator Air France has completed the first phase of the renovation and expansion of its business class lounge in Terminal 2 (T2) at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The 3,200m² (34,000ft²) lounge has been fitted with large luxury shower rooms; two private saunas; a relaxation area furnished with loungers and mini-suites; a detox bar with a selection of fine teas to improve health and wellbeing; and two private cabins where guests can book facial treatments with Clarins beauticians.
The open kitchen has been designed in the style of a Parisian brasserie and contains a wide selection of freshly prepared meals as well as a self-service offering with casseroles, salads and pastries. It also boasts a wine and champagne selection curated by Paolo Basso, who was voted the world’s best sommelier in 2013.
Anne Rigail, customer executive vice president, Air France, said, “This lounge is perfectly in line with Air France’s strategy to move upmarket, in the same way as the lounge at Terminal 2G at Paris Charles de Gaulle. It has been designed to surprise our customers with innovative services in wellbeing and gastronomy.”
To further promote wellbeing, Air France partnered with French startups Superbien and Tetro, as well as design agency Brandimage, to fit a 3D digital creation that changes shape, intensity and color throughout the day. One of the areas has also been fitted a dome ceiling installation that uses colorful mood lighting to help sooth passengers.
The second phase of the project is due to open in July 2018 and will contain further upmarket innovations.
