Retail operator Dubai Duty Free has launched a series of discounts for shoppers at Dubai International Airport to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese new year.
The promotions include a 20% discount on the top 25 products for Chinese customers including Chunghwa and Panda cigarettes; indigenous Chinese liquors such as Kweichow Moutai; and popular high-end brands in liquor, confectionery, skincare and perfumes. This includes brands such as Chanel, Dior, SKII, Sisley and Lancome. The offer will run until February 11, 2016.
As part of the promotion launch in Terminal 3, each offer has been housed in retail areas featuring Chinese architecture adorned in red and gold, signifying good fortune and joy. The emblem of the fire monkey was evident along with Chinese staff dressed in traditional costume.
Colm McLoughlin (above, center right), executive vice chairman, Dubai Duty Free, said, “The Chinese are a very important group for Dubai Duty Free, a fact reflected in our employment of 705 Chinese staff, and every year we try to come up with innovative promotions and activities to provide our customers with a memorable shopping experience during this special occasion.”
