Perth Airport has completed an A$12.5m (US$9m) project to expand its international departure lounge including the addition of a new six-in-one food and beverage outlet and children’s play area.
The new 10,000ft² Haymarket dining area allows passengers to relax at a bar, café, bakery, delicatessen, juice bar or pizzeria, while the children entertain themselves with airport-themed play equipment, interactive games consoles and a light wall.
Brad Geatches, CEO, Perth Airport, said, “We wanted to create an area specifically for families where parents can relax in comfortable seating, while their children play close by in a colorful and safe area – all in close proximity to great food options.
“Navigating check-in, immigration and security screening with young children can take some of the shine off the start to a family holiday so, in this area, parents can now de-stress before their flight and little travelers will have a memorable start to their journey.
“As part of Perth Airport’s A$1bn (US$719m) redevelopment program, we have unveiled a number of diverse and innovative dining options across T1 Domestic and T1 International that raise the bar in terms of the quality of the dining experience people expect at the airport.”
