Airport operator Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) and restaurateur SSP America have officially opened a series of new restaurants at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport in Manitoba, Canada.
The new restaurants include Freshii, with its health-conscious menu of salads, wraps, noodles, rice bowls, burritos and soups; True Burger, providing travelers with a classic burger selection; Prairie Bistro, serving a range of breakfast, lunch and dinner menus; and Skylights Lounge, where passengers can choose from a selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Travelers heading to the USA will also have access to UrbanCrave, featuring a newly extended bar area with additional seating.
Barry Rempel, president and CEO of WAA, said, “Initial feedback from travelers and airport staff about the new restaurants and enhanced seating areas has been overwhelmingly positive. In partnership with our experienced airport food and beverage services provider, SSP America, we are constantly reviewing the needs of our customers and striving to offer them an array of appealing food choices.”
Michael Svagdis, CEO, SSP America, said, “We are extremely appreciative of the opportunity to not only continue our long-term relationship with the Winnipeg team, but also bring a fresh new group of brands to the airport that provide travelers with a variety of choices and service styles. We thank the airport team for the opportunity to enhance the offering and passenger experience at Winnipeg International.”
