UK-based airport lounge operator No1 Lounges, part of the No1 Traveller group, has opened its newly renovated independent passenger lounge at London Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal.
The new lounge replaces No1’s first ever site, which opened its doors in the South Terminal seven years ago. Designed in the spirit of the jet-set age, the new space is 50% bigger and boasts panoramic runway views, an island bar, a bistro, and a sports lounge. No1 expects to welcome more than 300,000 guests at the South Terminal in 2016, in addition to approximately 500,000 guests in its newly refurbished lounges in the North Terminal.
No1 Lounges are available to all passengers for a fee of £28.00 (US$39) per adult and £16.00 (US$23) per child when booking on the website. Guests have access to a selection of hot and cold food, unlimited soft and alcoholic drinks, magazines, wi-fi, and complimentary security fast track services.
Phil Cameron, founder and CEO of No1 Lounges, said, “We’re passionate about delivering great service experiences and are always looking for ways to innovate and broaden our lounge offering. When we launched at Gatwick Airport in 2009 we saw about 50,000 guests compared with 800,000 this year. That’s phenomenal growth and we’re proud that our success at Gatwick is based on the quality of our product.”
Guy Stephenson, chief commercial officer at Gatwick Airport, said, “We are delighted to see the doubling of No1 Lounges’ capacity at Gatwick which follows our busiest ever year as we continue to grow and invest in delivering a world-class passenger experience. Our goal is to ensure our passengers’ journey starts the moment they arrive at the airport and No1 Lounges plays an important role in that journey for a growing number of our passengers.”
