Global restaurateur HMSHost and its subtenant Tinsley Family Concessions have been awarded an eight-year contract to expand restaurant services in Louisville International Airport in Kentucky, USA.
The new contract is valued at approximately US$110m and will coincide with the airport’s terminal enhancement project. HMSHost and Tinsley will operate a combined 11 dining venues, welcoming travelers with a mix of new locally inspired restaurants and national favorites.
Michael Price, vice president of business development, said, “HMSHost is extremely excited to be awarded this contract at Louisville International Airport and we look forward to opening this dynamic group of restaurants, including two new HMSHost-created restaurants that celebrate Kentucky’s bourbon making heritage, along with well-loved local and national brands. The airport has been very welcoming to us and we are eager to open our doors to serve Louisville travelers with the highest level of food and hospitality.”
The new offerings will include a Starbucks, KFC, Comfy Cow and HMS’s own Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen dining concept in the airport’s pre-security area. The Rotunda area of the airport will feature a Starbucks Evenings outlet and a Bourbon Academy Tasting Room, and Concourse A will feature The Local Rustic Market and Chili’s restaurant chain. Concourse B will feature Smashburger, Farmers Market, and Coals Artisan Pizza.
