Passenger numbers achieved double-digit growth for Orlando International Airport in Florida in February 2016, with domestic and international travelers reaching a combined 13% increase compared with the same month in 2015.
The increase meant that the airport achieved a new record for the rolling 12-month period leading up to February, with 39,582,971 passengers passing through the airport, a 10% increase year-on-year.
Frank Kruppenbacher, chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the airport operator, said, “February initiated the beginning of what promises to be a very busy peak travel season. To accommodate this growth and deliver the level of customer service expected, we are moving forward to expand our North Terminal capacity to meet the demand.”
