iGA Istanbul Airport in Turkey has appointed Selahattin Bilgen as acting CEO after the former CEO of the airport, Kadri Samsunlu, left the company.
The airport said that Samsunlu had been at the helm since the facility opened in 2017 and made a valuable contribution to its success.
Bilgen was previously iGA’s chief financial officer (CFO). The board unanimously agreed that he will work on strengthening iGA Istanbul Airport’s position in the aviation industry and will deliver positive results by improving execution. Bilgen is reportedly familiar with the industry and understands iGA Istanbul Airport’s potential and its key role as a global transfer hub for millions of travelers across the globe.
The executive board noted, “We want to thank Mr Samsunlu for his valuable contribution over the last six years, and we have every confidence that we will continue to work together during the coming period, to strengthen our company further. We are excited to embark on this new and prosperous chapter.”
