Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia is now accepting customs and immigration submissions via the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Mobile Passport app, helping to expedite the immigration process for US and Canadian citizens, or passengers in possession of B1 or B2 visa status.
The free app works by enabling eligible passengers to save profiles securely on their smartphones before submitting them electronically on arrival at the airport. Families traveling together are able to enter and save all information onto one device. Travelers then proceed directly to dedicated lanes for expedited CBP processing. The service expands the options available to passengers beyond filling out paper forms and waiting in line to speak with a CBP official.
Chris Browne, vice president and airport manager, Washington Dulles International Airport, said, “At Dulles International, we never stop looking for ways to make the journey easier and more enjoyable for our travelers. Together with our partners at CBP, we are proud to introduce the Mobile Passport app as the latest innovation to make international arrivals an even smoother process.”
