Restaurateur HMSHost has signed a 10-year contract extension to operate the food and beverage (F&B) concessions at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Georgia, USA.
HMSHost will open several new outlets as part of the contract extension, valued at an estimated US$87m, including a take on Service Brewing Co., a renowned local microbrewery, and PGA Tour Grill, a golf-themed bar and restaurant focused on healthy eating for active lifestyles. HMSHost also plans to open a kiosk bar, a pre-security Starbucks, an Auntie Anne’s pretzel store, and bagel and deli concept The Great American Bagel.
The contract extension means that HMSHost will now operate all F&B concessions at the airport until 2032, with the new outlets scheduled to open from late 2016 through to 2017.
Stephen Douglas, vice president of business development, HMSHost, said, “HMSHost is proud to deliver travelers the best dining choices in the industry and we are excited to continue our partnership with Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to enhance the traveler experience with great food and drink options for many years to come.
“Given the Savannah and Hilton Head areas are considered top golf destinations in North America, it is fitting to bring the PGA Tour Grill to the thousands of visitors and locals flying in and out of the airport.”
Greg B Kelly, executive director of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, said, “We are glad to have been able to expand our great relationship with HMSHost as part of a major upgrade package of our food and beverage concession. We are especially pleased that we were able to include Service Brewing Co. in the new program, as it was a major objective of ours to have local participation.
“These new upgrades and options could not have come at a better time considering the growth in traffic we are experiencing. We believe that our existing customer base and our new customers will be pleased with the new options and those that will come on line in 2017.”
