Turkish airport operator TAV Airports, in partnership with Aéroports de Paris (ADP) and construction firm Bouygues Bâtiment International, has entered into talks with Cuban authorities concerning the development of José Martí International Airport in Havana under a concession contract. The new contract will also include the development of San Antonio de los Baños Airport, located to the west of the capital.
The development project involves the renovation, extension and operation of the Havana airport’s existing international terminals. Upon completion in 2020, these developments will give the airport a handling capacity of more than 10 million annual passengers. It currently caters for nearly five million annual travelers.
