Istanbul New Airport in Turkey has made it through to the finals of this year’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Berlin, Germany, falling under the Future Projects – Infrastructure category.
More than 300 projects from 60 countries will be represented at WAF, with some of the best-designed buildings in the world competing across 32 categories. This year’s WAF will be held in Berlin for the first time, and will take place from November 16 to 18.
Currently being built by operator İGA Airports, the Istanbul New Airport project includes the construction of the world’s largest terminal under one roof, while maintaining a design that combines a unique sense of place with modern functionality.
