A ground-breaking ceremony has been held by Arora Group for the two new hotels it is building at London Heathrow Terminal 4. They will form the largest hotel development at the airport, in anticipation of a possible third runway.
In attendance were key stakeholders from the Arora Group, including its project partners Whitebridge Hospitality (an LJ Group company) and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), as well as executives from Heathrow itself. The two hotels will be branded Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express, with 300 and 450 rooms respectively. Due to open in 2018, the facilities will increase Arora Group’s hotel portfolio to nine in the UK. Its Grove Developments division will handle the construction.
Surinder Arora, founder and chairman of Arora Group, said, “The new buildings will expand the footprint of Arora Group at London Heathrow from 1,434 bedrooms to 2,184 across five hotels. Working in partnership with IHG, and in collaboration with LJ Group and Heathrow Airport, we’re looking forward to developing these two best-in-class hotels for our business and leisure guests, creating up to 350 new jobs for the local community.”
