GMR Airports Limited (GAL), a subsidiary of Indian engineering firm GMR Infrastructure, has signed an agreement with the government of Goa to develop and operate a new greenfield airport based in Mopa, North Goa.
GMR will design, build, finance and operate the international airport for a concession period of 40 years with an option to extend the contract by a further 20 years. The construction period for the first phase of the project is three years with completion scheduled for mid 2020.
