Independent lounge membership program Priority Pass has presented its Global Airport Lounge of the Year award to the Plaza Premium Lounge located in Terminal 2 (T2) at London Heathrow Airport.
Now in its 12th year, the awards are based on ratings provided by Priority Pass Members for more than 1,000 independent airport lounges in approximately 500 cities.
Plaza Premium’s 87,000ft2 lounge combines sleek interior design and contemporary British culture with standout features including a ceiling centerpiece, private bedrooms, luxurious shower rooms and a wellness spa. Plaza Premium Lounge was also the global winner in the Best Quality of Refreshments category with its signature Chicken Tikka Masala dish proving very popular among frequent flyers.
Other winners included the Petra Lounge at Amman Queen Alia International Airport as the best lounge in Africa and the Middle East; the Asiana Lounge at Seoul Incheon International Airport for the Asia Pacific region; The Club at San Jose Mineta International Airport for North America; and the VIP Lounge at Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo International Airport for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Priority Pass received more than 60,000 ratings from its members in this year’s awards using the lounge rating function on the new Priority Pass website and app. Its members provide ratings on a set of criteria covering overall lounge quality, refreshments, staff, business facilities and ambience.
