Arthur Reijnhart has been appointed director of Schiphol commercial at Royal Schiphol Group. He succeeds Jan-Willem Weissink, who left Schiphol Airport on March 1, 2022, and will take up the role on September 1, 2022.
Reijnhart will be leaving Dutch online supermarket Picnic, where he was responsible for expanding and growing Picnic’s business operations in Germany. Before this, he had a career in the energy sector. He worked in France, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA for Shell. He led Shell’s retail operations in the Benelux and France and has experience in real estate planning property. His work has included the development of sustainable fuels, such as hydrogen, biofuels and electric mobility. Reijnhart studied physics at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
Robert Carsouw, chief financial officer responsible for commercial at Schipol Airport, said, “Arthur has a lot of relevant experience and knowledge of retail, both nationally and internationally, that we as Schiphol Group will benefit from. He also has relevant experience in the area of sustainability, which is leading in everything we do. This combination in the position of director commercial has a lot to offer Schiphol. Travelers and all customers, such as in retail and real estate, will reap the benefits.”
