Hanover Airport (HAJ) in Germany has appointed Maik Blötz as its second managing director.
Blötz has been working at HAJ since 2008, currently as head of the infrastructure division, and has been a member of the extended management team since 2019. The industrial engineer has already planned and implemented major technology projects at the airport.
Prior to his time at HAJ, Blötz studied in Galway, Ireland and Oldenburg in Germany before working in facility management for railway company Deutsche Bahn and later cooperative bank Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank.
Blötz will start his new role on January 1, 2023.
Reiner Schränkler, chairman of the supervisory board, said, “We are convinced that Maik Blötz will be committed and successful in driving forward the strategic realignment of the airport infrastructure and process optimization in many sub-areas.”
Blötz said, “I am really looking forward to the new challenge and am convinced that together with my future colleague Dr Roll [Martin Roll, managing director, HAJ] and the entire airport team, we will further develop the airport so that it is fit for the future.”
