National Aviation Services (NAS), a Kuwait-based ground handling and aviation services provider, has begun the renovation and development of 16 departure and arrival lounges at nine airports in Morocco, North Africa.
The contract is part of a 10-year concession awarded by the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA), which includes the development and operation of lounges at Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Agadir, Tangier, Oujda, Fez, Dakhla and Laayoune airports. NAS will also provide “Pearl Assist”, meet and assist services for arrivals and departures.
NAS has now expanded its Pearl Lounge network to more than 30 lounges in 10 countries. It will begin renovating the Moroccan lounges over the next five months.
Hassan El Houry, CEO of NAS, said, “We are excited to be working with ONDA on the redevelopment and operation of nine major airports in the country. Airport service quality is a crucial factor for travel and helps facilitate traffic in and out of a country. We are pleased that the Government of Morocco recognizes this and has invested into the development of airport infrastructure. NAS will continue to provide operational expertise, world class facilities and industry-benchmarked service levels to ensure that Moroccan airports supersede recognized international airports around the world.”
