Airport seating manufacturer Arconas has launched several new products at this year’s Passenger Terminal Expo, taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on March 14-16.
The new products include the Arconas inPower Flex 3 charging unit featuring the latest USB Type-C technology for adaptive fast-charging of mobile devices. USB Type-C is the fastest type of USB available and has already been adopted by leading tech brands for all new personal electronics entering the market.
USB Type-C can charge any type of mobile device, from cell phones to laptops, without an AC adapter. The plug has also been equipped with technology that shuts down the unit within 120ms if there is a ground-short, helping to shield passengers’ electronic devices from power surges.
Pablo Reich, executive vice president, Arconas, said, “We’re excited to be able to offer the newest standard in charging to our airport clients and their customers.
“USB Type-C has been embraced by all major tech companies for personal devices entering the market, and the inPower Flex 3 will ensure airports are equipped with the technology passengers are looking for now and into the future.”
Arconas has also released its Bernù Aero Lounger, an elongated seating option ergonomically sculpted to provide comfort over long waiting periods.
The lounger is the latest addition to Arconas’ Bernù Aero seating range of beam-mounted tandem seating. Based on a modular ‘pin’ system, the Bernù Aero Lounger can be added to any Bernù Aero tandem seating configuration for convenient installation.
Finally, Arconas has partnered with Amulet Ballistic Barriers to offer the option of incorporating bullet-resistant barriers into their Flyaway tandem seating. The technology is invisible to the public and has been tested to National Institute of Justice (NI) 0108.01 Level IIIA – handgun threats (9mm & 44mag) standards.
Lynn Gordon, vice president of airport solutions, Arconas, said, “We recognize the challenges faced by airports to keep their passengers safe in the event of a crisis.
“Integrating Amulet’s ballistic barriers with existing furniture is a discrete way of adding security options to protect the public and first responders, as well as giving peace of mind to airport facility operators.”
