Hainan Airline’s International Lounge is set to welcome its first guests next month at Beijing Airport’s terminal 2.
The VIP lounge will welcome guests awaiting international flights, aiming to create a more enjoyable travel experience.
The lounge was designed by Dr Patrick Leung, and has a modern aesthetic that combines natural material and style.
Dr. Leung, who is an architect and interior designer from Hong Kong, said, “In designing the VIP lounge, I found inspiration in the nature and harmony of Hainan, and discarded ideas of using excessive luxury decor.
“I used a modern, elegant approach to introduce the peace and tranquility of Eastern philosophy, and combined this with aspects of soft lighting and ocean wave forms in the lounge, to highlight the natural beauty of Hainan.”
The lounge can accommodate up to 150 visitors and contains more than a dozen different areas, including a lounge with a traditional Chinese tea art display, rooms for reading, relaxation and sleeping, showers and wet rooms, an exclusive VIP area, and an audio-visual room.
Custom-made meals are provided on request and there is a self-service Nespresso machine.
