Denver International Airport (DEN) is due to begin its ‘Events at DEN’ series of family-fun activities and entertainment later this month.
Scheduled events being on May 19, with a free jazz concert from 2pm-8pm. Later in the year, the airport will host an 18-hole miniature golf course, a zip-line, rock climbing wall, virtual fly fishing experience, a beer garden, and an ice skating rink.
The event series will take place on DEN’s open-air plaza, which offers views of the terminal tents, major public art installations, the transit center facility, the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. The plaza connects the terminal to the Westin and is covered by a canopy, providing both covered and uncovered areas for activities.
Kim Day, CEO at DEN, commented, “The return of Denver International Airport’s popular ‘Events at DEN’ series means travelers will be able to experience and enjoy a host of free, family activities and events on our stunning open-air plaza.
“‘Events at DEN’ helps connect our travelers with Colorado happenings and fun activities that most people wouldn’t expect to find at an airport. We hope that passengers and locals alike will stop by the airport to play putt-putt, listen to music, sample Colorado craft beers, ice skate and more.”
