Passengers departing from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) must wear face masks until further notice.
The measure implemented by HKIA’s operator, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA), requires passengers to wear masks in the departure levels and automated people movers, apron passenger vehicles and SkyPier Sea-to-Air levels.
AA recommends passengers bring their own face masks and arriving passengers should also wear face masks at the airport.
Staff members are also required to wear face masks in all passenger-accessible areas.
Body temperature screening has been implemented at the entrances of the terminal buildings and restricted areas and in arrivals.
Passengers are advised to keep a distance of at least 1.5m from each other when in queues, with signs in place to remind them of safe distances.
Vivian Cheung, executive director of airport operations of AA, said, “The AA has been sparing no efforts in implementing different measures in HKIA to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for all airport users. We are working hand-in-hand with our business partners to look at the entire passenger journey and explore possible enhancement measures, with a view to strengthening passengers’ confidence.”
