Professional ice hockey team the St Louis Blues has partnered with HMSHost to open The Blue Note at St Louis Lambert International Airport.
The new hockey-themed restaurant near Gate E18 in Terminal 2 has been designed to offer travelers and sports fans an immersive dining experience that celebrates the winning tradition of the St Louis Blues. It has also been designed with selfie opportunities in mind, featuring murals and a major collection of memorabilia, including helmets, pucks and sticks used by players during their 2019 championship season.
“The St Louis Blues have one of the best fan bases in sport – locally and across the globe,” said Steve Chapman, St Louis Blues executive vice president. “We are proud to partner with HMSHost to bring the power of that devotion and pride to St Louis Lambert International Airport. The Blue Note will bring a unique dining and social environment for Blues fans and fellow travelers to enjoy as they depart, visit or arrive home to St Louis.”
The restaurant design is an homage to the Blues’ former home, the St Louis Arena, with a warehouse feel that features reclaimed wood and steel, with more modern touches of blue and white tile. There is seating for more than 110 diners, including 22 at the bar. Travelers can watch televised sports from any seat in the restaurant, thanks to multiple videowalls and TVs.
“In St Louis, we tend to have an appetite for great food and great sports. This new addition is the best of both worlds, bringing together savory menu items and the rich history of our beloved Stanley Cup champions, the St Louis Blues,” said St Louis City Mayor Lyda Krewson. “It’s just another example of how we’re building a stronger airport with world-class amenities and services.”
The Blue Note offers a full service casual dine-in menu beginning with breakfast. A full-service bar offers in-dining or to-go craft brews, wine and cocktails. The Blue Note, which will open officially on March 12, is near the center of Terminal 2, which serves Southwest Airlines.
