Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, India, is urging passengers not to drive to the airport due to disruption caused by its latest upgrades.
The latest phase of the ongoing development of Terminal 2 is expected to affect the movement of passengers and visitors driving to the airport, as a large part of the construction and related activity is taking place at the forecourt area of Terminal 1.
To minimize the impact on passengers, the airport has put together a series of diversions and secondary access roads, effective from Monday, March 9.
The Terminal 2 development includes wider roads, metro stations and a multimodal transport hub. This infrastructure development is intended to increase overall capacity and improve functionality of the airport, as well as creating a unique ‘Terminal in a Garden’ in keeping with the ethos of Bengaluru.
