The newly constructed terminal at Mytilene Airport on the Greek island of Lesbos has welcomed its inaugural flight
The completion of the Odysseas Elytis terminal marks another important milestone in Fraport Greece’s investment program, which involves the upgrade of 14 airports.
At Mytilene the operator invested €20m (US$22m) in the construction of a new 7,185m2 (77,340ft2) terminal, a 30% increase in check-in counters (in comparison to the old terminal) and the installation of a new, state-of-the-art baggage handling system. According to the operator, the new terminal will accommodate premium stores, a choice of F&B offerings and many new amenities and services.
The airport also now boasts a completely remodeled apron area, as well as a new fire station.
