Following a European tender, Royal Schiphol Group has awarded Beumer Group one of two framework agreement contracts covering future baggage handling projects.
The contract is part of objectives to expand, replace and/or modify Amsterdam Schiphol Airport’s baggage handling system over the coming years. The agreement forms part of a long-term cooperation with two different strategic contractors, both of whom met the requirements and demands set out by Royal Schiphol Group.
Schiphol is working to become Europe’s preferred airport and a vital component of that is ensuring that the baggage handling system design is extremely reliable and meets high levels of availability. Royal Schiphol Group believes that the best way to make this a reality is to opt for a long-term cooperation, which will ultimately guarantee optimum integration between baggage handling systems, while properly aligning the implementation of various future projects.
The agreement will run for a minimum of five-and-a-half years with the specific aim of maintaining and further strengthening the airport’s leading position in Europe’s aviation market.
