Passengers using Mumbai International Airport in India can now order their food in advance using the GrabbnGo app.
The app, Phase 2 of Mumbai’s order-ahead initiative, enables passengers to order their food before their flight, collect it from an express pick-up facility, or even have it delivered to them at the boarding gate.
Cutting waiting time by nearly half, the new food service at Mumbai is the result of research undertaken by the airport. This found that frequent flyers were skipping meals while traveling, due to queuing time at security/bag drop, limited food choices or being in a rush to reach the next destination.
A multi-order feature enables passengers to order from multiple food outlets under one invoice. Delivery to boarding gates will be undertaken by staff using special electric scooters.
GrabbnGo technology also enables stores to receive the order through their patented JITO (Just in Time Order) algorithm, pushing the order to the store on a priority basis, enabling passengers to continue on to other engagements. This ensures that passengers get their food hot and fresh. This service also lets passengers collect their orders at the special dedicated express pickup counters at the outlets.
