Birmingham Airport has revealed further details of ‘Birmingham Airport Fest’, which will take place on September 1.
The festival, part of celebrations for the airport’s 80th anniversary, will take place in Sheldon Country Park, and is billed as having something to suit all tastes.
Among the performers at the festival will be the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Jen and Derek from children’s TV program Milkshake, and Aston Performing Arts Academy. There will be local arena entertainment, a silent disco, interactive circus skill demonstrations, food and drink vendors, local community stalls and a funfair.
More acts and activities will be announced nearer the time, along with a schedule of events.
Nick Barton, CEO of Birmingham Airport, said, “We are very excited to announce our plans for the flagship event in our 80th birthday year. We are very conscious of our surroundings and we also know that we do have an impact on our neighbors. For this reason, we wanted to be able to give something back to the community around us and say thank you by throwing a free festival for all the family.
“By holding Birmingham Airport Fest, the community will be able to share in our success and year-long celebration and we are looking forward to welcoming guests to this free-for-all festival on September 1. We look forward to seeing people from across the local area, as well as partners and employees.”
