Work is to begin on Bulacan Airport, a new international gateway to the Philippines, before the end of the year.
San Miguel Corporation will be responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the new airport, which is expected to be operational within four to six years of the start of construction.
Bulacan Airport will have a capacity of 100 million passengers per year, although this can be expanded to 200 million.
With four parallel runways planned, it will have the capacity for 240 aircraft movements per hour. The project will also include the construction of an 8.4km (5.2 miles) tollway that will connect the airport to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Marilao, Bulacan, Philippines.
