SSP America, a division of SSP Group, has opened Mexican eatery The Little Chihuahua at San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 1, newly reopened as the Harvey Milk Terminal.
First opened in 2007 as a neighborhood taqueria on Divisadero Street in the Lower Haight, The Little Chihuahua is one of the best-known taquerias to emerge from San Francisco’s diverse culinary landscape. Part of the fresh-forward food movement dedicated to authentic flavors and using the freshest possible ingredients, owners chef Andrew Johnstone and Christopher Patella are committed to sourcing local, seasonal, sustainable ingredients to create fresh, healthy Mexican inspired plates.
At Terminal 1, The Little Chihuahua will serve organic egg-based tacos, burritos and chilaquiles for breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. The restaurant’s popular fried plantain and black bean tacos and burritos will also be available, in addition to extensive vegetarian choices. The Little Chihuahua will also serve beer, wine and cocktails.
Paul Loupakos, SSP America vice president, business development, said, “For SFO’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Redevelopment, SSP America is delighted to bring The Little Chihuahua – one of San Francisco’s favorite Mexican restaurants. Visitors and locals alike seek out The Little Chihuahua for its delicious, thoughtfully sourced food and hospitality. From the drinks to the food, everything here is handcrafted to order and, with a conscience.”
