Fraport subsidiary Fraport USA has announced the expansion of its leadership team with an executive appointment and two promotions for its head office operations and its award-winning concessions programs at Baltimore/Washington and Pittsburgh airports.
Gary H Gilliard has been named vice president of operations for Fraport Maryland. He will oversee the development, leasing, construction, marketing and management of the concessions program at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Gillard has more than a decade of expertise in the airport concessions industry, having held roles in both concessions management and as a retail operator. At Denver International Airport, he launched a retail merchandise unit program, becoming its lead manager. He also led a successful local business and minority participation program at the airport.
Amy Miktus has been promoted to vice president of operations at Pittsburgh International Airport and will oversee the leasing, construction, marketing, and management of 80,000ft2 (7,430m2) of concessions space. She has more than 20 years of specialty retail experience with global brands such as Bath & Body Works and Sketchers. Miktus joined Fraport Maryland in 2012. In 2017, she became director of operations for the concessions program at BWI Marshall Airport.
Cathy Simoni becomes Fraport USA’s director of corporate marketing and customer experience after 27 years with Fraport Pittsburgh’s team. Simoni directed and managed the airport’s retail operations, leasing and marketing. She also oversaw the successful Blue Sky Project, a US$10m redevelopment of the retail area at Pittsburgh International.
