Food and beverage outlet operator SSP Group has signed a five-year contract to open Michelin-starred Asian bistro Jardin de Jade at Hong Kong International Airport.
Launched in Shanghai in 1999, Jardin de Jade specializes in regional Chinese cooking, and has held a Michelin Star since 2015. The brand has 23 branches, in Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Hong Kong and Macau, among other places.
The new site, opened in the East Hall at Hong Kong International Airport, offers a range of price points. The menu features regional Chinese specialities, with an emphasis on Shanghainese cuisine, and has been designed to appeal to both local and international tastes.
The restaurant boasts digital LCD screens displaying a range of iconic Hong Kong backgrounds, as well as interactive smart tables that feature an ordering system and games for families to play while waiting for their food. Travelers with shorter dwell times will also feel welcome at Jardin de Jade, according to SSP, with small plates and snacks for casual dining and a modern bar serving fine wines, craft beers and signature cocktails.
Mark Angela, CEO of SSP Asia Pacific, said, “We are delighted to be working with Jardin de Jade to give passengers at Hong Kong International Airport a real taste of regional Chinese cuisine. With cooking and interior design that combine the best elements of both the modern and traditional, the new Jardin de Jade bistro will provide a truly memorable dining destination for travelers.”
