Hospitality firm Plaza Premium Group has opened its latest luxury passenger lounge in the departure hall at Langkawi International Airport, Malaysia.
The boutique space has been purpose-built for leisure travelers, offering them a stylish and cozy environment to unwind before departure. Lounge features include comfortable seating, shower facilities, complimentary wi-fi and charging stations for electronic devices.
Special menu highlights include local comfort foods such as nasi lemak, Hainan chicken rice and ipoh hor fun soup (Malaysian chicken noodle soup), as well as international dishes such as pan-seared salmon with caper butter sauce and crab aglio-olio fettuccine. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible.
Song Hoi-see, founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group, said, “We built this lounge to create memorable airport moments for our guests. It is our mission to make travel better and create unique experiences for each traveler.”
Encik Nazli Aziz, senior general manager, commercial services of Malaysia Airports, the airport operator, added, “Langkawi island is one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations and we aim to raise its profile further by ensuring that the airport is also a leisure destination in itself.
“We have done this by introducing new and globally recognized brands to the airport and it is now a popular destination even among locals. Continuing our partnership with Plaza Premium Group is part of this strategy in helping to bring in more tourists into Langkawi and Malaysia.”
Plaza Premium Lounge Langkawi can be experienced with a starting rate of M$168 (US$41) and M$238 (US$58) for two and five hours respectively. Travelers booking online can enjoy a 30% discount from now until April 30, 2019.
