Heinemann Duty Free has opened in the departure terminal of Vilnius Airport in Lithuania as a part of reconstruction work in the hub’s commercial area.
The new concept store has a walk-through design and offers more product categories, a wider range of goods and new international brand names. An extra effort has been made to represent Lithuanian brands.
The 850m² (9,150ft²) duty-free shop was created after analyzing passengers’ growing needs and expectations. Travelers will now have a choice from a wide range of cosmetics, tobacco and alcoholic beverages in addition to jewellery, toys and gourmet food. Fashion and leather goods or accessories such as sunglasses or watches available are also available.
Laura Joffė, executive director of Lithuanian Airports, said, “Seeking to have products and goods representing our country, we have agreed with the manager of the store to pay greater attention to Lithuanian products.
“The area attributed to the Lithuanian brand products was expanded from 90m² to 120m² (970ft² to 1,300ft²). We are extremely pleased that Lithuania products will be more visible from now on.”
After the completion of all reconstruction work in the stores, the airport will have invested more than €1m (US$1.15m). Repair works include redesigning areas in the departure terminal behind the aviation safety check area, adding new floor coverings, installing lifts, renovating indoor lighting system and engineering networks.
