According to a report by news agency Vietnamnet, work has started on the construction of a new passenger terminal at Cat Bi International Airport in Hai Phong city, Vietnam. The US$70m development will be capable of handling four million passenger per year and 1,000 passengers during peak hours. At present the existing terminal is capable of handling 800,000 passengers per year.
The project has been approved by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and the People’s Committee of Hai Phong, and has a scheduled completion date of the fourth quarter of 2016. The two-storey terminal will serve both domestic and international flights and will also act as the standby for Noi Bai International Airport.
