PrehKeyTec has unveiled its new travel document scanner at Passenger Terminal Expo 2015 in Paris, France, The PKT4000 features multiple scan functions, making it the perfect all-rounder at airports for check-in, boarding or general passenger identification.
The compact travel document scanner has a space-saving design and can scan passports, identity cards, boarding passes and visas, and reads barcodes, magnetic stripes and RFID chips.
The scanner can offer different scan and read functions – as a document scanner it enables professional scanning at check-in and boarding while its abilities as a barcode scanner are beneficial when reading 1D or 2D barcodes at airports, e-borders, hotels, cruise liners, car hire and even in banking applications.
As an OCR (optical character recognition) scanner it can read and capture travel documents. It also features an integrated bi-directional magnetic stripe reader that can read all three tracks of information with a single swipe of a magnetic stripe card in any directions for fast data processing.
An RFID reader can be integrated if desires, making it ideal for the lasted RFID passports being used more frequently at airports for check-in and boarding. The PKT4000 safely and reliably reads RFID chips and can help to streamline processes. In addition, difference interfaces and I/O ports options provide maximum connectivity for other devices.
