Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) in California is celebrating the five-year anniversary of its US$1.3bn modernization program by sharing a commemorative video on its website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
The airport opened a newly constructed Terminal B and a renovated Terminal A on June 30, 2010, and since then has recorded 29 consecutive months of passenger growth. It has also added two new international airlines, ANA and Hainan Airlines, and four non-stop flights to: Tokyo, Japan; Beijing, China; and Dallas, Texas and Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Kim Becker, director of aviation for Mineta San Jose International, said, “All of us at Mineta San Jose Airport are proud to offer our modern, five-year-new facilities to our Silicon Valley customers. Our travelers are the reason for our successes – consistent passenger growth, new airlines and more non-stop markets to where they want to go.
“Despite our still sparkling and modern facilities, we continue to invest in and improve our infrastructure, facilities and services to ensure that the airport is the first choice for our local and regional travelers.”
