Copenhagen Airport in Denmark maintained short waiting times for passenger security screening last week (July 20-26, 2015) despite the soaring number of travelers.
The airport served 178,728 departing passengers during last week with 98%, or around 175,000, of those passengers reaching the security checkpoint in less than 15 minutes. The average waiting time for security was five minutes and 10 seconds and the longest time any passenger had to wait was 18 minutes and 48 seconds.
Peter Krogsgaard, chief commercial officer at Copenhagen Airport, said, “There is no doubt that the poor Danish summer weather made more people travel abroad at short notice to reach sunny destinations. This meant that we had more passengers than expected last week, so we were pleased to see that we were still able to keep our waiting times short.”
