Brisbane Airport has become the first airport in Australia to launch its app on the Apple Watch. The airport app has been developed so that Apple Watch users can still take advantage of its many functions including the digital departure card, parking lot location, flight departure/arrival information, and push notifications for flight changes.
Roel Hellemons, general manager of strategic planning and development, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), the airport operator, said, “We are more committed than ever to providing the best passenger experience possible, and harnessing these digital technologies drives ease of use for our customers when traveling through Brisbane Airport.
“The Brisbane Airport app recently won the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) ‘Best in Class’ award receiving an excellent 482 out of 500 points.
“The updated version of the app continues to provide passengers with essential information at their fingertips and our adaptation into making this app compatible with Apple Watch was an innovative yet natural evolution.
“Within a few months of its introduction, Apple has become the number two seller in ranks of companies manufacturing wearable devices and the compatibility between the Apple Watch is partnered perfectly with the award winning Brisbane Airport app.”
Additional features for smartphone and tablet users include information for shopping and dining outlets, terminal maps, security information, and tourist information for things to do in Brisbane and beyond.
