Jabbrrbox to install pop-up private work booths at LaGuardia Airport Terminal B

US startup Jabbrrbox has been contracted to install eight of its connected workspaces in Central Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport in New York.

The work booths provide acoustically-sound, private spaces with secure wi-fi, flight-tracking abilities, terminal maps, and a photobooth app, with expansions including Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling, a camera for video conference calls, in-booth speakers, screen-sharing capabilities, and speakers for music and hands-free calling.

Jeremy Jennings, co-founder and president of Jabbrrbox, said, “In every aspect of modern life, we see a marked trend toward mobility, notably in the increased presence of laptops, tablets, and smartphones in the public sphere. But public space flexibility does not account for the disruptive background noise that comes along with conference calls on the street, or those long layovers between flights.”

As an on-demand consumer amenity, users are able to access the Jabbrrbox for US$15 per 30 minutes, with a door passcode and wi-fi password provided at the time of reservation.

Ed Baklor, chief commercial officer, LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the operator of LaGuardia, said, “This is the best of 21st century innovation for a timeless need: real-world connections to the things that matter.

“Improving the experience for all of our 15 million annual visitors is at the core of our mission at LaGuardia Gateway Partners, both in the current Terminal B and in the new terminal that we are building. Jabbrrbox’s private work spaces provide the type of features – including free and secure wi-fi, flight-tracking and a hands-free calling – that Terminal B visitors want and need. We are excited to be able to provide these types of amenities for our guests.”
