Gensler appoints new director of aviation

Global design firm Gensler has named Dan Grubb as director of aviation based at its Los Angeles office. Grubb is an experienced architect and has three decades of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industries.

Grubb has expertise in leading operations during programming, planning, design, engineering, construction management, and design-build delivery of professional services. In the new role, he will work toward elevating Gensler’s aviation practice by creating and delivering complex building solutions.

Barbara Bouza, managing principal at Gensler, said, “Dan is a tremendous leader and his expertise in executing large, extensive projects is highly valued by our clients. His attention to detail and personal approach has made him a sought-after mentor and important addition to our practice.

Prior to his new role, Grubb was on international assignment as vice president and director of operations for Jacobs’ Global Buildings & Infrastructure practice in both the Middle East and Morocco. He is an LEE-accredited professional, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB), and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Speaking about his appointment, Grubb said, “As the role of the architect expands in today’s more challenging integrated project delivery, it is important to define out added value throughout the delivery process. It is vital we elevate our status as an equal partner in the decision process, while maintaining a high level of design quality.

“Gensler’s reputation of design excellence and emphasis on maintaining strong client relationships offers the perfect platform to offer these enhanced professional services and expertise on large complex building solutions.”
