Air Canada opens Maple Leaf Lounge at Vancouver International Airport

Airline operator Air Canada has unveiled its new Maple Leaf Lounge at Vancouver International Airport in the Canadian province of British Columbia following an 18-month expansion and renovation program.

Located opposite the priority security lanes for international departures, the new expanded lounge provides eligible customers with a stylish environment to relax and refuel, while providing panoramic views of the airfield.

Benjamin Smith, president, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada, said, “We are excited to welcome Air Canada and Star Alliance eligible customers to our completely redesigned International Maple Leaf Lounge at Vancouver airport which has been created to complement the overall travel experience for our premium customers.

“Showcasing contemporary Canadian design, artwork and the majestic natural beauty of British Columbia, customers will enjoy a calm and inspiring environment in which to work or relax before their international Air Canada or Star Alliance flight.”

Designed by Vancouver-based Gustavson Wylie Architects, the Maple Leaf Lounge measures 1,250m² (13,460ft²) with seating capacity for 258 customers over two levels. Alongside local artwork and furnishings, the lounge features a business zone equipped with flat screen desktop computers, complimentary wi-fi and charging points throughout; a Samsung TV zone; a VIP room; a quiet zone with reclining lounge seating; and spa-inspired shower rooms with rain shower heads. The lounge also boasts a chef’s station where customers can choose from a range of hot and cold dining options as well as individually prepared dishes.
