TSA approves Vanderlande’s Optosecurity Automated Screening Lane

Vanderlande’s Scannojet and Optosecurity’s eVelocity have successfully passed ASL assessment testing by the Transportation Security Administration's Innovation Task Force (ITF), making the security solution available for selection by airport and airline carrier partners for deployment to airport operational assessments.

The Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) ASL assessment testing identifies and supports new capabilities to improve security and address key operational challenges, such as passenger wait times at airport checkpoints.

Vanderlande’s executive vice president – airports, Andrew Manship, said, “We look forward to providing a new ASL option to US airports and airline carriers when upgrading security checkpoints. The Vanderlande and Optosecurity’s modular design and configuration delivers increases in passenger throughput, enhancements to security, and reductions in operational costs.”

Nick Porter, Vanderlande’s president for airports, North America, added, “We are debuting new innovations for fast installation and comprehensive service that will ensure real benefits for US checkpoint customers, now and in the future.”

CEO and president of Optosecurity, Tim Matthews, commented, “We can now provide TSA with a proven remote screening solution and a common user interface to reduce overall training costs.”
