SSP and Dusseldorf Airport partnership expands with conference center and gastronomies

ssp dusseldorf airport DUSconference plus center gastronomies eateries restaurants passenger terminal worldThe partnership of Dusseldorf Airport and food travel firm SSP has expanded with the creation of a new 740-seater conference center and seven more gastronomic units.

The ‘DUSconference plus’ offers 10 meeting and conference rooms, 15 boardrooms, a web corner and plug-in workstations, in addition to three foyers for business meetings, events or exhibitions.

The center will be open from May and has the convenience of being located minutes from the check-in desk.

Jan-Henrik Andersson, chief commercial officer at SSP, commented, “As Germany’s third-largest airport and the key hub in North Rhine-Westphalia, Dusseldorf Airport is an important partner for us, and we have already been working closely and successfully with the team here for a number of years.

“As operators of the conference center in partnership with Düsseldorf airport, we are delighted to be building on this successful partnership.”

The conference center is complemented by the new gastronomic offerings, including Jamie’s Deli, 4Cani and eastern Mediterranean cuisine Mosaic. A KFC is also opening this morning (March 15), and another bar is set to launch in 2019.

Ilse Ruffer, vice president business unit customer management at Dusseldorf Airport, said, “We offer everything necessary for conferences, events and working on the move. Together with SSP, we have developed a state-of-the-art conference center that offers the ideal space for any kind of communication – whether in large groups of up to 320 people, in pairs, or alone at one of the workstations.

“Located in the middle of the terminal, the DUSconference plus is very flexible. It offers a contemporary environment, a convenient location, and in places direct views over the airfield. If visitors are hungry, food can also be personally arranged and delivered from any of our SSP outlets.”
