Facility/Terminal Planner

Chicago and Charlotte, USA

Landrum & Brown, an internationally recognized leader in aviation and airport consulting, is currently seeking Facility/Terminal Planners to join the expanding planning team in our Chicago, IL and Charlotte, NC offices. We are seeking self-motivated, driven individuals with strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills with a background in planning, architecture and/or engineering to help us bring innovative airport solutions to the aviation industry.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Senior Terminal/Facility Planners and support other staff in conducting analyses and preparing project deliverables. Occasional air travel to our airport clients and between our USA and other offices is possible.

o Develop, refine, and evaluate alternatives for passenger terminal, airfield, AC parking layouts, apron planning, cargo and support facilities and landside facilities
o Develop programmatic requirements for medium and large hub airports
o Develop facility phasing/implementation plans
o Support terminal and facility planning studies by developing written reports, graphics, and presentations
o Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and key stakeholders to achieve projects goals and objectives
o Provide on-site client support and assist in planning/design charrettes and facility surveys
o Assist with facility condition assessments and other facility planning tasks

Minimum Qualifications
o Bachelor’s and/ or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering,
Transportation Planning, or related degree is required.
o Approximately five (5) years of progressively increasing responsibility relative to airport terminal planning, architecture, infrastructure, and development of airport facility expansion or modifications concepts
o Understanding of airport passenger flows and baggage operations, and other critical systems

Preferred Skills and Technical Expertise
o Advanced capabilities in AutoCAD and Revit
o Advanced capabilities in SketchUp or comparable 3D modeling software
o Workability in Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
o Workability in PathPlanner or comparable gate planning software
o Workability in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
o Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars
o Familiarity with IATA ADRM design criteria
